JetCat Airspeed Sensor mit StaurohrThe optional lockable flying speed indicator consists of an impact tube (pilot tube) and a precision difference pressure sensor. As measured by the difference pressure and the temperature the ECU calculates the ongoing flying speed of the models. Without connected airspeed sensor the ECU always works in the so called "Thrust-Control-Mode".
In this operation mode the pilot is setting up the turbine dynamic impulse with the gas stick.
With connected airspeed sensor you can shift the ECU in the so called "Speed control" mode (flying speed regulation).
In this mode the turbine impulse becomes automatically regulated from the ECU, so the flying speed of the model reaches and keeps the preseted nominal value. The information of the flying speed can be used from the ECU for several functions: Measuring/filling of the maximum and the average flying speed. Measuring of the covered flying distance in km. Automatical bounds of the maximal allowed flying speed. Regulation of the flying distance analogue with gas stick position (= "Speed control mode").

The switching over of the various modes occurs send-site with a 3 level switcher on the 2 channel.
